Research, Design, Development, Test, & Evaluation (RDDT&E)
-
Research: Fibers, Fabrics, Ballistic Materials, Test Methods, Anthropometrics
-
Design: Garments, Body Armor, Load Carrying Equipment, Life Support Clothing and Individual Equipment, Integrated Military Member Systems
-
3-D Virtual Prototyping: 3-D Virtual Prototyping is performed for garments and sewn fabric items using Optitex. 3-D-Virtual Prototyping of items made with other materials is performed with AutoCAD and other engineering and design computer based systems
-
Prototyping: Rapid prototyping of fabrics, garments, other sewn products, and hardware
-
Development: Sizing Systems, Patterns, Specifications, Garments, Load Carrying Equipment, Integrated Military Member Systems
-
Fit Testing: Complete A to Z operation, including garment preparation, anthropometric measurement, fitting, data collection, analysis, reporting, and pattern modification. We specialize in expedited fit tests, moving the test garments between test sites over the weekend on roll-on, roll-off hanger racks and analyzing the fit test data daily during the conduct of the test. All of our fit test garments are inspected and measured for adherence to development patterns and specifications. These measurements are analyzed with the fit test data to ensure that fit results are representative of the intended pattern size and shape.
-
Wear Testing: Complete A to Z operation, including garment preparation, anthropometric measurement, fitting, alteration, garment issue, data collection, analysis, reporting, and pattern modification. We specialize in expedited wear tests, moving the test garments between test sites over the weekend on roll-on, roll-off hanger racks, analyzing the wear test data daily during the fit and issue phase, and web based data collection at mid-test and end-of-test phases.
-
Concurrent Pattern and Specification Validation: Performed concurrently with the Wear Test. We use a minimum of three regular defense contractors to validate the patterns and specifications through manufacturing of initial samples, conducting tech data corrections, and manufacturing a small pilot lot of a range of sizes to ensure that the tech data is ready for use full production.
